Still Becoming

A loose charcoal and watercolor study using my own image as source, embracing gesture, imperfection, and process. The sunflower head marks growth, learning, and becoming.

Standard of Return

A symbolic flag-body exploring perception, polarity, and inner alignment, where vision, territory, and return are held within a single standing form.

Plant a seed (Inhale series)

A quite act of tending in the dark, where the body becomes soil and breath becomes intention.

Permission Not Required

This piece emerged from choosing to trust my hands and my tools without external approval. Working digitally, in black and white, I focused on presence, structure, and gaze rather than polish. These portraits are a reminder that artistic identity is not granted by medium, institution, or permission but claimed through practice

The Start of Looking

Day 8 of 30 — “Turn to page 37; make an artwork” I returned to The Start of a Journey by Joni—one of the first books that taught me how to learn art without permission. This drawing is a quiet acknowledgment of origin: how practice begins, how lineage forms, and how an artist keeps choosing to look, translate, and continue.

Nervous System Architecture (Calling the House In)

Single-sentence caption (institutional / Art Quest ready) A freehand perspective sketch mapping a future shoreline dwelling as a nervous-system response—where intuition, silence, and embodied calm become architectural intent.

Blind Construction (Calling the House In)

I painted this space without rehearsing the outcome, following pressure, rhythm, and correction rather than sight. The work records transition: from intention to occupation, from imagining a studio to physically claiming it.

Architecture of Quest Explanation

2 a.m. I scrubbed the floor until it understood I was staying. 20 by 20 feet. Built with discipline. Someday, 20,000.

Threshold Waters

Title: Threshold Waters Day 13 of 30 – “Make a work while you’re doing something else” Created at sunset on my first full day in a new studio by the shoreline. After hours spent cleaning, reorganizing, and resetting the space in silence, I stepped outside to catch the fading light and made this quick drawing as the day dimmed. Later, I returned home, restocked fresh produce from the local market, and cooked dinner for myself - continuing the rhythm of rebuilding, grounding, and tending to both space and self.

Studio Attire

dressed before working. The body becomes apparatus, costume as entry point into image-making. Art begins before the first mark.

Unbound

Two ceremonial figures oscillate between constructed volume and dissolving edge, staging identity as a process of accumulation and release.

Dusk Residue

Ephemeral charcoal figure made at dusk using only residual window light; the form dissolves as illumination fades, enacting the prompt’s condition of disappearance.

Correction Loop

A body folded under the weight of correction. The spiral replaces the halo, suggesting repetition rather than redemption. Alignment becomes strain.

Held in Dusk (Day 21:Black

Day 21/30 — Black After coordinating two hours on Google Meet for the Global Arts in Medicine thematic group: Spirituality, Indigenous Arts and Healing, which ended at sunset (18:02), At 12 minutes past 6 pm, while on a call with a fellow artist, I created this painting alla prima, using the fading daylight to capture this gesture image of two people in embrace.

Barricade of Green Silence

This painting was made in the late afternoon from outside my kitchen window as a carpenter and his assistant installed a wooden barricade along the veranda to prevent direct access to my studio door. The work captures a domestic space in transition — greenery, structure, and the quiet act of securing a boundary. It reflects the intersection of daily life and artistic practice: protection, labor, and continuity.

Reclamation

A hybrid figure releases vine from heart and hand while a book replaces the skull—humanity archived as nature quietly overrides the machine. I chose to co-create live with my audience instead of consulting a machine.

The Observer

After a long day of painting a commission piece in silence, new studio work flow energy.

Little Majesty

Joy does not have to be loud to be powerful. Sometimes it perches lightly and simply exists.

26th February 2026 at 7:10 pm

Unfinished

A collaborative digital sketch created live. Ink and color separated between two artists. Left intentionally unfinished — a study in shared presence and atmosphere.

Keeper of Quiet Things

A woman leans into the hollow of a tree, offering her secret to something older than herself. The tree becomes witness, archive, and keeper. Not all truths are meant for the crowd; some are planted, entrusted to roots, and allowed to grow in silence.

The End Is Nigh

A meditation on cyclical completion, where identity yields to cosmic timing at the edge of transformation.

Echo

A woman entrusts her unspoken truth to a tree that listens, absorbs, and keeps.
