New Contemporaries open call

The New Contemporaries annual Open Call for artists is now live for application until 2pm, 30 March.
|
Selected artists take part in a major group exhibition at Focal Point Gallery and partner venues in Southend-on-Sea in June 2027. From September 2026 to June 2027 artists take part in our Artist Development Programme, structured across in person and online activity throughout the year.
|
|
The call is open to emerging and early career artists aged 21 and over, based anywhere in the UK. No formal training is required and there is no fixed route into art. This year’s selection panel includes Joy Gregory, Florence Peake and Abbas Zahedi alongside the New Contemporaries team.
