New Artquest Exchange group: Art and Labour

Artquest Exchange groups are spaces for artists with shared interests, practices or needs to connect, communicate, and support each other online.

A new group that focuses on Art and Labour has recently been created. Central questions concern how artistic practice is financed, who bears its costs and who can afford to be an artist; how institutions organise and extract value from artists’ labour; and the mismatch between the conditions of artistic work and the systems artists depend on. The group combines collective enquiry with peer mentoring and practical support. It is a space to compare experiences, identify recurring structural problems, share resources, and explore collective responses or less individualised ways of working.
