What is 30/30?

30/30 is a free creative practice challenge for artists, anywhere in the world, to make a new piece of work every day for 30 days.

Every day, you make a new work of art and upload it to our website. If you miss a day, you’re out of the project.

Every day participating artists got an email prompt to use, ignore, or change as they like. You can also meet artists and make friends online, on our professional network Artquest Exchange, at an online crit group, or at our closing digital mixer celebration.

You own the copyright of your work for all time, and we don’t reuse any of the works uploaded to the site.

Why should I take part?

  • Challenge yourself: make a new work of art every day for 30 days and kickstart your practice after the winter months. Treat it as individual small works to free yourself up, or think of it as one, long, complete body of work. Get out of it whatever you need, and do it in good company.
  • Network: make new friends around the corner and around the world on Artquest Exchange, our free professional network for professional artists. Find collaborators, exchange ideas and career tips, or even meet IRL.
  • Get feedback: we run a limited number of online crit groups during the 30 day challenge, bringing artists together to talk about their work, their careers, their art practice, and to find out what it’s like to be an artist somewhere else. Participation is free and optional.
  • Showcase: show your work to thousands of other artists on our website during the challenge, with daily highlights (of artists who opt-in) chosen at random by the Artquest Robot and shown on our Instagram. Prefer to work privately? You can keep your work invisible and still take part in the challenge.
  • Celebrate: everyone who signs up is invited to our special free digital mixer at the end of the challenge, so you can meet each other (and the Artquest team) online.

Artist Josh Philpot, who has experience of a chronic health condition, has taken part every year since 2021. He wrote about his experience of participating in 30/30 in 2025 and how 30/30 has informed his practice.

Access and inclusion

We want 30/30 to be open to any artist, no matter the barriers they experience or their responsibilities outside their practice.

Know already that you can’t take part every day? Check the Safe Mode box when you register for 30/30 and never get kicked out – useful for artists with caring responsibilities, those (like us) with other jobs, or artists who may be unable to take part every day because of their health.

Anyone can sign up in Safe Mode but use it with caution – remember it’s meant to be a challenge. The point isn’t to complete 30 days, but to challenge yourself to make work every day.

Copyright and licensing

Your artwork always remains yours – you own the work and the copyright. By taking part, you allow Artquest to share the work on our website and, if you’re selected, on our Instagram channels. We won’t pick any art to share if you set it to Private when you submit.
