An artwork about facing the other side of self (Shadow, id). With a symbolic chess board that also resemble a dance floor. Conflicting but embracing. Referencing the song 'Psykick Dance Hall' by The Fall.

Mortal Tragedy

The quote is from the very first part of Dante's Inferno, which is the beginning of his journey to hell. 'Page 37' is interpreted loosely here as an age (35-ish is mid-life when the book was written).  To illustrated the quote, and compared it to modern life, the barcode is used, stretched to look like a forest.

Terror

Replaced the onomatopoeia in Marinetti's Futurist artwork 'Zang Tumb Tumb' (sound of war, machines) with James Joyce's 'Tattarrattat' (sound of knocking). 'Tattarrattat' is also a palindrome, symbolizing repetitiveness of things.

Equilibrium

Two opposing forces that are co-dependent, eternally maintaining balance. Visually represented here as a celestial objects — Sun(S) and Moon(M). It is also intended to be an innuendo to Sadism and Masochism (S&M) that basically followed the same co-dependent concept. The artwork is arranged so that it is rotatable (moon up, sun down and vice versa).

Memento Mori

The end of our days. The artwork is revolved around the idea of death. It is a landscape image building with 3 symbols: *(Sky) =(Earth) ~(Sea), 3 ultimate destinations for the every living beings' remains, which eventually become one with nature itself. The artwork highlighting the ideas of impermanence, cyclic time, bitter-sweet quality of nature and all things around us.

Using the day 5 work ('Glory') as a base. Basically bombarded it with a banner that said 'NEW'. Criticizing the excessive marketing, image-orient/over-consumption/competitive society that comes with Capitalism. And behind it all, it is still as hollow (Emperor's clothes) as ever.

Subverting in a buddhist way. Light and darkness, Right or Wrong, Rain or (Sun)Shine, all is fine. Featuring the lyrics from The Beatles - Rain, arranged in a falling motion, which can be seen as both rain and sunshine.

The color black always associated with a rebellion, non-conformist ideas (anarchism, rock n roll, etc.). To follow that attitude, this work is a piece that rebellion against its own subject (the color black/rebellion), and consequently creating a little paradox.

Soul is getting cheaper and cheaper. The work is pretty straightforward. Imitating the supermarket's price banners. The work bears a vague reference to the legend of Faust by Goethe, with the title 'Hot Deals' as a hint to 'deal of the devil'.
