i became everything
between worlds
bobbles on your jumper
cracks in the beige floor
beeping ringing
mesh hanging below a ceiling
of window panes
i am every noise, texture
song playing over the other
every tap, step, squeak of a sneaker
every plastic bag and wheel of a pushchair
every hesitation, rush of excitement,
every over-exhausted child about to cry
i am lights flickering at a rate imperceptible
hum of voices in the background
