How did that happen? Oooops

A small paper figure stands in a mess of paint with a left hand of artist Wend Pope covered in paint, there is a large paint brush the figure is holding and footprints of paint around, the figure is looking down at its hand to see the paint on itself. It’s with blue, purple, silver paint smeared and splashed about on the paper surface, the background is a picture of a spider plant done by the artist with green and white stripes and three yellowed plant leaves. The figure is about 7 inches tall and roughly done into a 3D shape holding the large paint brush behind it as if to say I didn’t do all that mess.

This world is all backwards

A thick blue net is printed 2/3 of the paper it’s thick with Blue acrylic paint but holes are present, in quite a lot of the holes there are fish gasping for air their heads and tails caught in these net holes some have bodies caught in the net holes. The sky is blue green in watercolour and the clouds which were made first in the spaces of white there is clouds with pencil marks and silver around the clouds showing where the pencil would be under the paints it is prominent so looks a bit haphazard and strange being that the first thing I usually do is the last on this occasion, the sea is just the plastic net with fish between caught in the holes as there isn’t really any sea just a few splashed of blue between the grid that was printed, it’s my take on doing a process in reverse but then thought the world is in reverse and crazy. In this picture I had to change it there is no sky but the close up of the fish which looks better, the file was too big so I had to crop the picture drastically.

Been meaning to fix that!!

Today’s piece is a small rectangle heavy clay receptacle you might use for putting a few rings or necklace it’s black, the top third is mottled green, white and few gold flecks of coloured glaze on this matt black, this is earthen ware that has been broken in two in the middle, this had then been mended with the Japanese art of Kinsugi with glue and gold coloured dust which leaves a line so that people can tell this loved piece of usually earthenware or porcelain has been kept through love or sentiment and is showing onlookers that things are not perfect and are kept and treasured by Japanese and I think Korean people also use this for very old pieces too, but is a Japanese traditional practice.

All our flag, just waiting for the next phase of human evolution.

This is a map of the world that I started to blot the names out from the cities, oceans, all the writing that some person has named and instead it’s a flag of the world it has gold acrylic for the land and silver acrylic for the oceans and water, this is my flag of the earth and is a flag for us all no names, no boarders no restrictions of any sort, I may in the future make a map with just the mountains, rivers and earth topography but I’m happy with this and hope that others like this idea. I was going to do a flag like Lebanon with trees but I think this is more pertinent for our times and the future.

Never Cultivate Seeds of Doubt, Only Seeds of Change

This is a piece done on paper with pumpkin seeds that are ready to eat without shells in the shape of the words Seeds Of Doubt, the seeds have been brushed away from the word doubt, which I painted in a thin dark ink so you can what was once there, below that is the word Change in pumpkin seeds that can be grown, I have drawn and used ink coming from the growing point of the seeds and drawn in ink from this a vine from most of them with small green leaves and some have purple lilac flowers to amplify my title of cultivating change and being fruitful with this, rather than doubt which stops any growth. It has a few splotches of blue ink between the seeds the vines with some flowers to cut through the negative space so the paper is not so stark. The seeds have a small outline in pale dark ink and some gold pencil around the seeds of “change”. So in short it is a 2D drawing with Ink and the 3D with edible and growing pumpkin seeds.

Mother Nature Is The Best Artist

It is a background on paper of a Lyre Birds nest which is basically sticks thrust in the ground in the shape of an overlapping U shape so sticks creating a space for a space for the Lyre Bird or Bower Bird to put its treasures for the females to look at and admire, the inscription says on top of the art work…” A Lyre Bird makes Art. He collects objects, all he can in his forest to make his ‘Love Nest’ beautiful for his interested ladies. He collects Azure Blue Butterfly Wings that sparkle, red Berries that are like fire, he gathers white Snail shells or brown cones and seeds, all for the pleasing of the eye, an act of visual display to please the interior designer in him and make his drab nest pretty. He sings the most beautiful phrases and mimics those he likes too. He is a performer, singer, designer, builder, collector, Art Connoisseur and Artist impressing the eyes. Art can be small things, it can be large things and the unseen. Only sometimes noticed poetically by the observers who wish to take note.” The lower part of the picture is red Berries drawn and painted with brown pine cones and a few yellow flowers on the left of the nest in the middle ground beside this is a few drawn and cut out of paper white snail shells, below this is 6 drawn and cut out Butterfly wings in blue with lines and highlights and some thing to make it shine as Butterfly’s wings tend to do. Beside the snails shells are a few purple Berries with stalks on again painted and inked so there is a few different colours I imagined the bird would have collected. It is signed Wend Pope in the bottom right hand corner 2026. So it in short is a nest with writing over the top of the picture with red and purple berries, snail shells butterfly wings giving the impression of a Lyre or Bower birds nest. For the prompt of “who gets to be an Artist?”

Ned Blackhawk “The Rediscovery of America”

It is a large moon in the middle top of the page with dark blue sky and graduating down to a purple colour background, below the moon is a circle of people sitting round a large fire, there is a shaman woman holding up a bowl on the left side of the fire and there are two musicians on the right side of the fire one with a drum the other with a flute, there are several people you just see minimal figures sitting in a circle the writing says “praising the Mother Earth and giving thanks to the seeds and the food given to people to eat. The great life force. On the left of this scene is a young child in a blue dress the caption says “Dancing with flowers and seeded gourds to give thanks for life” on the right of the fire circle in another scene is a small teepee saying below “Sweat lodge” this has figures sitting in a circle. Below this is a woman with long plaits and the caption reads “ Grinding corn or meal to make food or drink” she has a stone infront and a round squat receptacle made from baked clay. This page 37 comes from a book by Ned Blackhawk saying roughly that Pueblo communities followed seasonal cycles that were developed over generations these cycles are tied to ceremonies, day long retreats, prayer sessions, and dances, among other religious practices without which harvests cannot be conducted.

Could you speak up I’m a little deaf.

A small pencil drawing of two A5 pages, on the left is a couple of tree stumps with two stick people standing on one and 5 stick people standing on the other large tree stump, there is a large tree chopped on the floor beside them on the same page to the right top corner is another simple figure standing on a large tree stump with their arms up, in a speech bubble they are saying, “ we need to save the planet” but it’s in small words. Dotted about on the same page is people with their phones two figures on 2 park benches drinking coffee with their phones in their hands, there’s someone on a bike with their phone in a cradle on the handle bars, in front of a large tree on the floor is two figures with phones it looks like they might be taking pictures of the tree on the same page at the bottom of the left hand page, above these two more detailed figures is a speech bubble with arrows coming off and pointing at the people sitting about, the one on their bike speeding off, the two sitting park bench figures and the detailed two figures in front of the tree all saying in small words,”we need to do something”. On the right hand page is a hand held hearing aid like they had decades ago looks like a trumpet, it’s an ear trumpet, this is being held by a Skeleton with their speech bubble saying “Huh! I can’t hear you!!”

Blinded by colours

It is a inked piece of work in the shape of the front of goggles that you use for safety when working, it is inked and very abstract and messy with bright ink colours of blue, pink, yellow, red, a little green colour and some pen marks, it has been put on the front of a ceramic human head covering the eyes of the head.

Food Used To Taste Better.

Title “You Are What You Eat. I have made a paper circle drawn like a plate very simply, with plastic coloured gel film of various colours on the plate is 2 Yellow Bananas with spots and the bottom detail of the banana base and the tops with black ink, there is a red coloured apple with a green colour gel leaf, there is a large Yellow Tomato with a little detail there is a blue plum also, blueberries a small pile of maybe 5 or 6, there is purple gel circles representing 8 grapes and the stems are in pen drawn onto the paper coming from the gel grapes there’s an orange with dots for the dimples and the top where the stem would have been in drawn too, so it is a plate of fruit done in coloured gels and it is sat on a paper 2D paper plate and I have places this all on a light box so that you see the coloured gel which looks like stained glass, showing the colours and details of the piece of work and it’s titled, “ Food Used To Taste Better”

Reflections of Trompe le Monde

It is a picture of a Tuba instrument just the horn part, the reflections in the highly polished brass is from a music hall which has lights and audience, this is not seen but is background story this all reflects in the lights and colours in the Tuba brass instrument you can see the lights and the purple of the seats in the auditorium.

Me And The Cats watching Magpies

It’s a postcard sized piece that has at the forefront a lot of circles concentric that have different colour bands these are dotted about and no specific pattern, some have 3 circles and some have 4 concentric circles, these have colours of purple, blue, red, yellow, green, pink, these circles some are round others are squashed a little so they are cooked egg shape, there is in the middle a small picture drawn and colours of Saturn with its rings and a nuclear energy symbol in green lines. On the bottom of the postcard sized piece of work is a semicircle not round but from edge to edge a flat round object that is the sun, this is a representation of the close up of the sun with red, yellow and red stripes dots and squiggles that describe the pictures they have of the sun it is a little raised in detail along the suns edge and shows a dark spot with red and orange whirlpool around this dark spot on the sun. In the background taking up the space is a half picture of a black cat, my cat that has yellow eyes and is looking at the viewer, she has a half white nose and it’s half her face in the left of the picture. On the right side of this postcard is another cat looking to the right and his ear is just behind the Saturn and the nuclear power energy sign, he has different coloured fur with beige, dark brown and white detailed marks, with the dark marks of his tabby mask and he has a white nose and jawline, these two figures cover the back space, one looking at the viewer and one looking away to the right but squished together so only the black cats face is half seen with just one eye looking. The title is called “Me and The Cats Watching Magpies”

A little green around the gills, Feeling Sad For Mother Earth

There is a mask in front of my face the mask is of twigs, leaves, seed pods there is tree bark building up features of the cheek bones and contours, there is grasses with seeds that are about the mouth as a moustache and used also for eyebrows, there is branches the have been cut cross sectioned as pupils of the eyes, the nose is a branch with green and blue lichen, the hair is of a few strands of hay, and there is also leaves that help to create more character to the mask. In this photo I am holding this mask so you can see a human hand looking like it is wiping a tear away, there is a beige colour scarf and long hair hanging down beside the mask and it is green colour generally with muted brown tones from the bark and seeds and all natural materials used to make this “green person mask” it is titled “A Little Green Around the Gills, Feeling Sad For Mother Earth today”

House of cards

It is 5 playing cards that have been cut into in two places and are in precarious positions slotted into each other and at angles that resemble a random shape. There is the 6 of clubs at the top bridging a gap between two cards that is also sitting cut into a Jack of hearts at the corner a black 8 is showing and these are all slotted into with cuts two more sitting at a right angle this is all balancing. The background is a map that isn’t important but is a back drop to the picture. The title is House of Cards.

Can you see me ?

This is a pale blue colour that has a very pale wording behind it saying CAN YOU SEE ME ? it is so pale that you cannot really see it at all unless you was to really take notice and bother to look, it’s my description on when people do niceties but are not really bothered to know you at the end of the day it’s a mental health highlight and would be used in a mental health day campaign maybe although I’ve never sent it in to anywhere. Up in the top right hand corner is a notice from the app that helps you make notes on the phone and says recently deleted, as the prompt is “today’s work should vanish by the end of the day” my Title is “CAN YOU SEE ME?”

Angry Medieval Tiger doesn’t like it’s colour stripes

This is a A3 size paper previously had stripes of different coloured inks in one direction of a semi circular strokes across the paper in the same directions with various inks of yellow purple green blue etcetera, the new work is of a Tiger with only an outline on top of the old picture with its tail going off the page to the left and it has its face towards the viewer on the right it’s face has stripes of black Chinese ink and some triangles on the tail, as is the outline of the Tiger but has no other details just the Tigers outline of its legs and paws with claws, the stripes of the previous picture I was hoping would make the Tiger quite abstract and fill out the stripe details of the Tiger, I’m not great at drawing animals so it looks like a medieval Tiger that no one had seen this animal before. The Tigers face is a little detailed and looks angry, I wanted to keep it abstract and let the coloured stripes of the previous work speak for this piece. Title is Angry Medieval Tiger doesn’t like it’s coloured stripes

Memory fades so look at a picture WIP

It is a redo of the picture of a Tiger I did yesterday. It is A3 size paper with ink stripes in a loose semi circular fashion across the page in Yellow, Orange, light Green, Red, some purple stripes very loose and non conformist, there was a Tiger as second piece of yesterdays prompt of rework an old piece of work so as it was abstract lines of colourful ink I wanted to lay onto antigens out line made of Chinese stick ink, the face looked very amateur so I painted out the face today for the title “right a wrong, or wrong a right” so as the face of the Tiger was very wrong and looked even worse that a medieval picture of someone that’s never seen a Tiger, I looked at a reference photo on Google and so the Tigers face is a lot more representative of a tiger I have made the legs more chunky but not altered then much and it’s still a stripey abstract colourful piece with an outline of the Tiger with detail on the Tigers face only in Chinese stick ink very loose so I hope I have made amends to the animal world and it is a work in progress and Titled “Memory Fades So Look At A Picture” WIP

First picture of King P.I.Gibi

A picture of Tabby cat done in small broken lines and dots and an attempt to not have colours or details, it is done so it’s an expression of shapes of my cats face and using suggestions of stripes and spots on the face and shape of the jowls using dots to build up the face but not all the face has been pen marked, I don’t usually use this sort of style of drawing as it takes time rather than a stroke of a line it’s to suggest salt and pepper colouring of the subject Gibi it is using a ink pen on a lined notebook. It’s about 10cm by 10cm size picture. Prompt Be a beginner. Title First Picture Of King P.I.Gibi. He is called Gibi but I now call him P.I. Gibi because he doesn’t stop eating.

It is a phone app that can give you geometric shapes so there is a pale blue 3D box and there is measurements written upon this pale blue box of measurements of dimensions that were for home improvements so it has height, width and length showing size of a physical object in my home. 17th and 18th February, No Light No Moon All Black

This is a moon phase chart from google via a website that shows the percentage of the moon phases from 0% to 100% full moon over the month of February on a chart that shows the percentage of the moon seen. On the 17th and 18th of February 2026 there was no moon for two days at 0% which is an unusual phase as most moon phases have one day of 100% or 0% and I have started to study the moon phases as I like to watch and Photograph the moon and have looked at it for years as it’s a constant. Art Intellectual not AI. The Art Aficionado Approves.

A picture of my black and white cat and she is looking at a piece of art I made with a 5cm by 5cm canvas the canvas is of water lilies pads and flowers, she is looking intensely at the piece I had made she has been looking intensely for 10 minutes, without looking away and with intent not falling asleep and me asking her “do I have your seal of approval” she wouldn’t usually bother to look unless she was watching the paint brush and the pencils moving about sometimes looking at a work build up on a page but then turn away and sleep. This is a head and shoulder image of my cat a black and white tuxedo cat that has black ears and black mask as fur and looking at a picture of waterlilies very close to her paws intently and admiring the picture looking very closely at it on a fleece of grey with pale wallpaper background, prompt : Make an artwork for someone that doesn’t like art. A cat usually has no interest in art of anything their humans do except when we are in the bathroom doing bathroom things or when we are eating and how to get our food into their bellies. Doodles help with greater things and time pass.

It is a abstract picture with what seems a organic spray of a flower but is very erratic and scribbled, it’ has a lot of colours like pink, purple, yellow, green, teal, bright yellow a little red all the splayed out sort of flower goes to a central point so I suppose it’s like when you quickly make a cornflower sketch but more busy and not flower form but maybe like a carnation but not. It has many bright colours and is very much a tropical sort of feel to it. It’s title is Doodles help with greater things and time pass.

Am I the only one !? Water, Water Everywhere And Not A Drop To Drink.

The work is on paper and is of a row of boxes 3 across and 13 deep of rows of machines like rectangles in a shelved unit next to it is the same going off into the distance to show there is a long line of machines in rows and rows of units to represent AI centres these start at the right side and trail across the page in an arc that shows perspective. There is red and yellow to show the presence of fire, below this arc of units of machines that have fire surrounding them is a a triangular space that has the words “KEEP WATER FOR PEOPLE NOT MACHINES, FUCK AI, GPT, FUCK DATA CENTRES” The title is “ Am I The Only One? Water Water Everywhere And Not A Drop To Drink”

Who are we kidding? The Birds And Beasts Should Know What We Are Doing.

It is a clay sculpture of a tree this has 3 sides with great big holes in the trunk all around there is two mis-shaped branches that are only sticking out the sides above that look like a person that has their arms above their head in a flourish. It is bare and bleak there is detail on the bark of the tree with strokes of detail in the clay like bark it is a little swaying maybe resembles a surreal dream but it’s not really a play toy for a bird it’s what is left behind by people maybe after logging of the forest or of the fire where it’s just a burnt out tree with two main trunks. The Title is “Who Are We Kidding? The Birds And Beasts Should Know What We Are Doing.

What’s Not To Smile About They Wreck My House, They Steal My Pens, But They’re Babies, Fur Babies.”

Photo of my two kittens they’re under the duvet so all you can see is their heads looking straight at you. The one on the left is black with a white triangle on their nose which goes down to their top lip and they look at you with golden yellow eyes, the one on the right is a tabby with a round bottom vase shape of white in his cheeks and forehead and also gold yellow eyes he sits slightly behind the black cat but both together looking intently and saccharine sweetly after trying to wreck my bedroom they are under a dark bottle turquoise duvet which has gold and brown slashes that is supposed to look like grasses and spots that are supposed to look like dried spindly grass flowers that have main stall and an arrow shape with dots of small flowers. It’s a graduated pale to darker type colour range the pillow behind is pale blue turquoise colour they are looking intently at the viewer like butter would melt. Title is “What’s Not To Smile About They Wreck My House, They Steal My Pens, But They’re Babies, Fur Babies.”

A cats toe beans and pad has been joined up to make a figure like a bear as this is what the photo looks like so the pad of the cat is the head of wjat could be a bear and the toe pads have been drawn around to make arms and legs with a phone app that you can draw with.

We’ve Plugged Ourselves In Willingly

There is a figure in block colours sitting on a recliner seat leg under with foot showing towards the viewer, the trouser are purple and top is green with a lilac face with no features, the hold directly in front of them a black rectangle that represents a mobile phone there is a chain from this phone to their wrist and a wire going towards their head with what looks like head phones or could be direct wires to the eyes, the figure has a 3 prong plug at the back of their head no socket is in sight though, the wording on the picture says “We’ve Plugged Ourselves In WILLINGLY”

Butterfly’s are mirrored reflections of the environment right?

The artist has done a simple two sided butterfly’s wing there is no body of the insect and this is just brown on the right side of the top wing on the bottom right wing is a small patchy blue green colour but it’s hard to see as it’s muddy and dark not reflecting any light. On the left side of the Butterfly’s wing there is brown wing mirroring the shape the filling of the wing is also brown but with a blue net shape that is six sided shapes with thin blue lines of ultramarine this is also hard to see but makes a perceptible grid pattern in the dark brown. There are words above and below the butterfly that states “ Butterfly’s are losing their colours as deforestation rises, in places where Eucalyptus groves grow there is only drab butterfly’s. In forests there are some colourful butterfly’s still, but in drastic decline. Butterflies reflect our environment and the damage mankind inflicts in its monoculture and cutting of forests” title: Butterfly’s are mirrored reflections of the environment right?
