Messy Map

This Doodle artwork is kind of like a mind map..... to help me untangle my scrambled mind. I am having a solo show in June and I am overwhelmed with ideas, work, earning, making. So this has numerous bubbles with themes and materials mapped out. It is mostly in dark blue pen with the occasional blitz of neon highlighter pen. At the top in capitals it reads TURN MESSY INTO SOME KIND OF PLAN. There is a central character that looks like a ball of wool with eyes, a mouth and a pair of legs. (it looks like my character Shredhead from a moving image piece I made out of paper called 'Outsider'. Above it it says 'scrambled' and beneath it, it says 'breathe'. within each bubble are words with stripy blue and neon arrows linking each bubble. Finer doodles representing the works within and around the amorphous shapes. It is to calm my mind and get organised, however, it looks a little messy now. It will go on my wall as a mantra and reminder to breathe, create and breathe again.

Masks, Beaks, Whiskers

A nebulous wash of watercolour on paper. A vague emergence of three creatures, characters or folk. With masks in mind, two Strong beaked creatures appeared, particularly the middle character with its bright red plumage. Creature to the left is a softer brown owl- like bird and on the far right appears a striped but very pale and ghost-like - with swooping white whiskers - also cat-like . they are like three characters in a play as they face the viewer in a tight knit row.

I Wanna See Tarzan Vines & Flying Saucers!

Lianas (tarzan vines) - some kind of smoosh jungle or forest, a possible lake, vegetation, flowers, reeds and flying saucers. Probably peeping eyes too. Nebulous watercolour, wet on wet in muted browns and an hint of dark blue.

Pas de Deux Dans Le Soleil

Offering of Chi
