Stuart Hall Library is a specialist research collection on international contemporary visual art and culture open to the public since 2007. The library provides the opportunity to study art from Indigenous, African, Caribbean, Asian, Latin American, Middle Eastern and UK artists of diverse cultural backgrounds. It is a reference only collection of 10,000 publications such as artist books, artist monographs, exhibition catalogues, zines as well as archival material of iniva’s legacy preserving and promoting the work of Black and Asian artists such as those from the UK Black Arts Movement.
Named after cultural theorist Stuart Hall, the library serves as the intellectual and social hub of iniva (Institute of International Visual Arts).
