The Artquest team is made up of 4 artists working part-time. Due to capacity, we are unable to provide talks to everyone who asks us, and generally need at least a few weeks to schedule something in.

We prioritise talks where we can reach a specialist audience of visual artists or talk about artists working conditions to specialists. We usually give talks to specifically invited professional visual artists, arts organisations, artist employers, policymakers or funders. The talks we attend are either focussed on arts and culture, or where arts and culture are contributing to a wider dialogue.

We prefer talks with lots of opportunity for questions and conversation.

What kind of talks does Artquest give?

We can give talks, presentations, or contribute to panels at industry events and conferences about:

  • Our research and projects
  • Artist employment and working conditions in the art world
  • Information and advice to visual artists about their careers, where the audience is large

What talks is Artquest unable to give?

We are unlikely to give talks:

  • At art exhibitions, and cannot give talks about an artist’s work
  • For artists who are not already practicing professionally
  • To general audiences
