Hallgerður Hallgrímsdóttir is an Icelandic photographer, toying with the language of her medium, disrupting perceptions of established Icelandic photography and drawing attention to everyday non-events. We meet in her apartment, a few weeks before she is due to give birth, to discuss a practice that takes joy in the often unnoticed moments of her island’s landscapes.

Hallgerður Hallgrímsdóttir was interviewed by Amy Moffat for issue two of Junko, Junko Iceland. This is an edited version of the original audio. Follow Junko on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Image: Hallgerður in her flat, Photo Credit: Claire Dickinson
