The Sovereign Art Foundation was set up in Hong Kong to promote Asian artists. The Sovereign European Art prize was established in London in 2005. The final 30 selections (apart from the winning work which becomes property of the Foundation) are auctioned at a for charity with the proceeds evenly split between the artist and the Foundation. Nominations are via gallerists and curators.
